Reading for Change

March 10th, 2025 to March 28th, 2025

Harriet Bishop Elementary School

The annual PTO Read-A-Thon is our biggest and only school-wide fundraising event, which celebrates reading, helps raise funds, and directly involves each and every Harriet Bishop student. By participating in the Read-A-Thon, students will have the opportunity to earn fun rewards for themselves and the school!

  • Every student that submits their completed Reading Bingo will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win some cool Harriet Bishop gear!  Drawings will happen each week during the Read-A-Thon.
  • We also encourage every family to consider their ability to help with the fundraiser.

Our 2025 goal is $12,500, and every dollar raised will go towards earning additional school-wide prizes!

The Harriet Bishop PTO, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funds programs that directly support each student and affords students opportunities that are no longer funded by the school district. The funds raised through the Read-A-Thon pay for things at school such as: 5th Grade BizTown experience, field trips, flexible classroom seating, Artist-in-Residence, indoor recess toys, Kindness Retreat, STEM tools, 5th grade send-off, scholarships for events and services (e.g. yearbook, directory), and more!

Any and all donations are appreciated!
